TUNAWEZA INNOVATION HUB

We are a youth-centered social enterprise based in Bombo Town, Luweero District. Established to combat youth unemployment, our hub provides free, inclusive learning spaces that nurture creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking among disadvantaged youth aged 18–30. We serve as a bridge between traditional vocational training and modern entrepreneurship education, offering a dynamic and holistic approach to workforce development.

Why Focus on Youth Aged 18–30?

This age range is a critical window for identity formation, skill acquisition, and career path setting. Unfortunately, in Uganda and similar contexts

Many youths drop out due to financial constraints.

Vocational training often lacks innovation and creativity.

What is Tunaweza Innovation Hub?

Tunaweza is a self-organized learning and innovation hub based in Bombo, Uganda. We empower youth aged 18–30 to develop their personal purpose, build technical and entrepreneurial skills, and launch their own social enterprises. We are a replication of the SINA (Social Innovation Academy) model.

Who can apply to become a scholar?

Any young person aged 18–30 living in or around Bombo, especially those who have completed vocational training or face unemployment. We also welcome youth without formal education who are motivated to grow, learn, and take responsibility for their future.

Is there a fee to participate?

No. Tunaweza provides a free learning experience, including accommodation, food, mentorship, and access to entrepreneurial resources. Scholars are selected based on potential, not ability to pay.

What will I get out of the program?

You will not receive a certificate. You will leave with something much more powerful: a working business, skills in leadership and innovation, deep self-awareness, and the confidence to navigate life with purpose.

What is “freesponsibility”?

Freesponsibility is a core SINA value. It means combining the freedom to choose your own path with the responsibility to contribute to your community and own the consequences of your actions.

How long is the program?

There is no fixed timeline. The process is tailored to your growth. Most scholars spend 9–12 months in the community, progressing through the stages of unlearning, discovering purpose, gaining skills, and launching a venture.

Can I visit Tunaweza?

Yes, visitors are welcome. Please contact us in advance to schedule a visit. We especially encourage educators, funders, and youth workers interested in organised learning and entrepreneurship.
